Have you gotten the chance to see the Apollo 11 documentary yet? The launch in 70mm is extraordinary.

The interview with Arthur C. Clarke and Cronkite
is incredible.

Thats a bummer. There are plenty of other videos of the launch, though.

I have not. I’d love to see it in IMAX.

I saw Capricorn One in the theaters back in the day. I don’t remember it being all that good, but I should probably watch it again.

Do you mean this one with Clarke and Heinlein? I haven’t seen it, but will watch it today.

Not sure if it is still playing but you should definitely go if you get the chance.
It is available on blu-ray now. Why in the heck they didn’t do a 4k release is beyond me.

I’ve never seen that one. Sounds like 70s camp, complete with the requisite OJ appearance.

Pretty much, except this time the mission is to Mars.

That one is great too, but the one I was talking about is
in the few minutes before launch (right around 2:38 in the livestream
).
The excitement of both of them is palpable. Arthur Clarke calling it “the best investment this country has ever made” is prescient.
